My Story...
I am a Registered Occupational Therapist (OT) in Alberta, Canada and trained ADHD Coach, who has been working individuals with ADHD, and other forms of neurodivergence since 2004. I am also a certified mindfulness teacher from completing a 2-year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield. I also identify as being neurodivergent as I have a uniquely wired ADHD brain, which has been my greatest source of learning, inspiration, and passion for this work. My clients enjoy my caring and compassionate approach, and how I help them make sense of ADHD, and discover new ways to make daily life easier and more successful.
During my OT career, I have gained extensive experience, which has included working with parents and teachers, providing them with knowledge and strategies for supporting the children and teens in their lives. I have also worked with many adults with ADHD, empowering them with gaining more understanding about their ADHD, and what they need for moving forward with their goals. I also have a lot of experience doing presentations about ADHD and self-regulation, and for several years I had the wonderful privilege of facilitating the Calgary CHADD ADHD support groups.
I have a deep passion for supporting people with ADHD (and other forms of neurodivergence), in addition to having a life-long love of learning, which both fuel my strong drive for engaging on ongoing professional learning. I have completed ADHD coach training with JST Coach Training, and ADD Coach Academy (ADDCA), both considered to be leading ADHD Coach training programs in North America. Using a coaching approach into my work, has been invaluable for deepening my collaborative approach with my clients. And many of my clients have also found the exploration of mindfulness and self-compassion tools and practices in our sessions to support them with making progress on their goals.
I also strongly believe in providing the most effective supports in the areas of ADHD & neurodivergent-affirming approaches that are currently available. This has led me to engage in extensive training in Stuart Shanker's Self-Reg Approach, including the completion of the Shanker Self-Reg Learning Facilitator Certification Training. I am continually engaged in ongoing professional development in the areas of ADHD & other forms of neurodivergence, brain-body science (such as Polyvagal Theory), trauma-sensitive mindfulness, and self-compassion. Incorporating these ground breaking approaches into my work has expanded my abilities for being better able to support my clients of all ages.
